This is a beautiful tune. I’m a sucker for the warm tones of a lone piano. Nothing is too overdone in this song, and it just hit me right. I hope you enjoy.

I stumbled onto James Morrison tonight while browsing around Spotify. After listening to the CD version, I dug around on the interwebs and found an acoustic version that I liked better. I usually like acoustic takes better. I was listening to his raspy voice, and the ease with which the music flows from him, and knew he was perfect for the blog here. There’s just so much soul emanating from this guy. He’s everything I wish I could be as a guitar player and singer. He’s so much more than just this song, though. Listen to some of his other stuff too.

Hello again! It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. I’m trying to revive the site. I hope you’re excited. I’ve got some really good music planned for posting.

I really do love this song, and I thought it was appropriate for my return. Little Dragon is trip-hop, if you couldn’t tell. This song has been rolling around in my head for quite some time, and I’ve always known it was perfect for the website. Enjoy.

Perfect music for Sunday (or any day, really), but it seems especially appropriate for a rainy day like today.
Ed Harcourt reminds me of Jeff Buckley in this song for some reason. It probably has something to do with his emotional/uneasy vibrato. It’s also what I love about the song.

There’s real passion in this number.

Adele. Oh how I love your voice.

The beauty found in this song is complimented by voice. Her pitch and dynamic control is amazing. Hear for yourself in this song (below). The piano arrangement reminds me of a couple of songs already posted on this website. Namely “Everyday” by Carly Comando, and “The art teacher” by Rufus Wainwright.

You should buy this CD, if not for this song, for her rendition of “to make you feel my love” that she performs so flawlessly and brilliantly.

I heard this song for the first time last week, and have been sitting on it like a man who finds a piece of gold. I didn’t want to share it with anyone for a while.

Anna has been playing guitar/singing since she was 12. She only recently started posting videos on youtube, and I’m so glad she has. There’s an honesty and innocence in her performances, and she has a beautiful, soft voice.

I first learned about Rosi via Greg Holden. He was visiting her in NYC or something and mentioned her in a video or on facebook or something.

I love this song. It’s catchy, cute, and quirky – just how I like it. Rosi is a great songwriter. A lot of her songs have a sort of innocent feel about them. I just like how they’re produced. They aren’t overly done.
