“See You Soon”

Listening to Mat made me want to feature a Coldplay song. Hopefully this isn’t one you’ve heard. They certainly don’t play this one on the radio. It’s from a CD released in 2000 (Blue Room), and it isn’t available everywhere. If you’re a crazed Coldplay fan like me, then you’ve certainly heard this song before.

This song needs no explanation (but I’ll give you one anyway).

It’s about someone’s insecurity — someone who apparently can’t trust, and shuts them self in from (I assume) relationships. (source: songfacts.com)

This guy’s music is probably all over the radio right now — i’m not sure. I can honestly say I don’t listen to the radio.

With Vocals like Chris Martin, subtle guitar parts, and an ethereal mix of instruments in the background, it’s hard not to like this guy’s music.

Apparently Falsetto is in lately — This song reminds me of the way James Blunt weaves falsetto into his melodies.

Maybe I’ll stick with Adult Alternative for a spell.

Alternate Routes

There’s something youthful and pure about the music from this band. I hope they stay true to the inspiration that created this song. It’s where I hope they hover for years to come. My ears would be lucky to hear what this band can create. Let’s all hope the coming years are good to The Alternate Routes.

A simply beautiful song, this is. Today is a day for revelers here in Dallas. Lower Greenville avenue will be filled, no doubt, with party goers wearing green. A parade, as is customary, will be led by Vincent Zubras playing the bagpipes as he has done for well over a decade.

I love the Chieftains. I love Sting. When I found a Chieftain song that featured Sting I felt as if the heavens had opened up and tinkled gold on us. Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s day!

Yesterday’s music was a real downer. I needed a pick-me-up today. I hope this song makes you want to hug bunnies, dance under rainbows, and do other pot-of-gold type stuff. Celtic Woman took celtic music over by storm — or rather a gentle rain — in 2005 when they released this album. These gals have some soothing tones. — Is that Irish Spring I smell in the air?

Liz Carroll
“Crow in the Sun”

Well, St. Patrick’s day is coming soon (March 17th). Until that time, we will be featuring Scottish and Irish traditional folk music.
It’s music I love anyway, so I thought it was a nice fit.

Liz Carroll is a figurehead in Iris music. In 1974 she entered the All-Ireland under 18 fiddle championship and won. The next year she won the All-Ireland Senior Fiddle Championship. A great deal of the music featured on her CD’s are of her own writing.
