“Reed has been releasing technically impressive acoustic guitar records for close to twenty years. His multifaceted style fuses elements of folk, jazz, blues and new age. His six-string work centers around a nimble fingerpicking approach, colored with occasional slide and harmonics playing.”

“Michael, Michael, Michael”
This song was written as a tribute to Michael Hedges. Don Ross makes it clear that Michael Hedges was a major influence in his music. It’s a good one. I know I’ve featured Don before, but he needs another one. This week couldn’t be without one of his songs.
Rodrigo y Gabriela
This is fantastic. I’ve posted These two before, but I had to post them again this week. Good times.
“Patterns of Snow”
This ends the Fingerstyle Guitar week. Maybe I’ll revisit it later, but we’ll see.
Jay Robken has been as musician for as long as I’ve known him. I went to High school with him, and he was pretty good back then. He’s been all over the place performing on guitar. He has more music on his myspace page.
“Island in the sun”
*sigh*. I recently finalized a trip to Jamaica. Well, nearly finalized – The plane ticket has been purchased. I’m going there for about 5 days for some fun in the sun, relaxation, and some much needed rest. I’ll be heading down there in September and I can hardly wait.
As a tribute, today I feature Harry Belafonte. Maybe I’ll post “Jamaica Farewell” when I return from my trip.

Yo-Yo Ma,Bobby McFerrin
I’m a big fan of Bobby McFerrin and Yo Yo Ma. I don’t think Bobby ever got enough credit for the kind of music he was once pretty famous for. I’ve got some pretty amazing live recordings of him doing some funny songs. I wish I could post them all.

It sounds as if she recorded this song in a park. I love it. This CD is available tomorrow. You should certainly pick it up — it’s worth it.

“Always on my Mind”
Willie Nelson popularized this song, but this version is amazing. It’s so clean and penetrating. Enjoy.

“She’s got a way”
I’ve known about this song forever. I don’t know why I’m posting it now other than to say that I’ve been listening to it more recently. Go out and buy Billy Joel’s greatest hits CDs. They’re quite amazing, and well worth the purchase price.

“Preaching to the end of the world”
I wanted to post “Sunshower” but I couldn’t find out what CD it was on, so I decided to post this one instead. You should listen to sunshower, if you can find it. It’s amazing.
